I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan. My research interests include Latin American politics, historical political economy, criminal violence, and indigenous politics. My work received the 2021 Heinz I. Eulau Award for the best article published in the APSR, and the 2022 Mary Parker Follett award for the best article on politics and history.
My research is multi-method and combines statistical analysis, archival research, GIS, text analysis, machine learning, survey experiments, and lab-in-the-field approaches.
